At St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation,TASS information agency and “Art,Science And Sport” Charity Foundation of Alisher Usmanov announced a joint project entitled “Special View at the GoldenRing”.

Specialists will make the monuments of the Golden Ring of Russia accessible for tourists with visual impairments. They will prepare and install metal models of architectural and cultural monuments in the said cities. Thus, tactile models will be made for cultural sites of Vladimir, Suzdal, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Uglich, Rostov, Sergiev Posad and Pereslavl-Zalessky.

The following monuments are going to be adapted: in Vladimir — the Assumption Cathedral ensemble, in Suzdal — the Nativity Cathedral and the Archiereus House ensemble, in Yaroslavl — the Church of the Prophet Elijah, in Kostroma — the fire tower, in Rostov — the Assumption Cathedral and the bell tower of the Rostov kremlin, in Sergiev Posad — The Trinity Lavra (monastery) of Saint Sergius, in Pereslavl-Zalessky — the Cathedral of Transfiguration of the Savior, in Uglich — the residence of Uglich princes and the Saint Dimitry’s Church on Blood.

The Golden Ring is one of the most popular touristic routes in Russia. About 2 million tourists travel around it annually. This is why it is so important to make this route accessible for visually challenged persons.
