The Second All-Russia Special View Forum Festival of Socially-Oriented Theatre will be held in St. Petersburg on May 19 to 22, 2022. Originally it was planned to take place in November 2021, but was postponed due to the complicated epidemiological situation.
The program of the festival will remain unchanged and include theatrical, educational and inter-disciplinary parts. The festival will comprise inclusive plays, performances and interactive projects, as well as seminars, workshops, and lectures given by stage directors, teachers and curators.
More than 25 experts in socially-oriented and inclusive theatre will take part in the educational program. Some of the events will be open to all visitors.
Among forum festival experts there will be such speakers as Sofya Apfelbaum, director of Russian Academy Youth Theatre, Yelena Kovalskaya, head of Socially-Oriented Theatre Master’s degree program at Russian University of Theatre Arts and member of supervisory board of the Inclusion Centre, Alla Mitrofanova, independent art critic, a member of International Cyberfeminist movement, and Roman Feodori, stage director and art director of Krasnoyarsk Youth Theatre.
“The program for the Second All-Russia Special View Forum Festival of Socially-Oriented Theatre was prepared in autumn of 2021. Despite the changes in the situation in Russia and in the world, its organizers decided to keep the program unaltered, in order to let theatre groups show their work to a large audience. Now we regard the festival primarily as a place to come together and give support to those working on inclusive and social projects, those who represent the most vulnerable population groups,” organizers of the forum festival comment.
Special View Forum Festival of Socially-Oriented Theatre aims at showing the best practices in socially-oriented art in Russia and contributing to the development of this type of art in the country. Most prominent experts in the field of socially-oriented theatre and associated forms, theatre managers, marketing specialists and producers are taking part in preparing and convening the festival.
The project was organized by “Art, Science And Sport” Charity Foundation of Alisher Usmanov within the framework of the “Special View” program, and “Inclusion” Centre for Creative Projects, supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture, the New Stage of Aleksandrinsky theatre and “Connection” Foundation.
